What is Organic Recycling?

Organic recycling is the process of recycling organic material - anything originally derived from living organisms - into compost. Organic materials are biodegradable or easily broken down by organisms over time. Organic recycling plays a huge role in reducing the amount of methane gas produced out of landfills and helps efficiently capture the energy potential stored through organic matter.

What Organics Can Be Recycled?

All forms of organic feedstock such as yard trimmings, land clearings, sawdust, stumps, vegetation, woodchips, dimensional lumber, cut-offs, and scraps are eligible for organic recycling. We take these organic feedstocks and essentially combine them with nitrogen in biosolids to convert the waste back into beneficial products.

How Does Organic Recycling Work?

EverGro takes the clean carbon that these feedstocks provide and combines it with the nitrogen in biosolids from local municipal wastewater facilities, domestic sewage sludge (class B biosolids), and water plant residuals. This converts the waste back into environmentally safe and beneficial products which can, in turn, be used in agriculture, landscaping, highway fertilization, big housing communities, and many other areas.

Due to the lack of oxygen in landfills when organic waste is buried, it undergoes a process called anaerobic digestion, which ultimately releases methane gas into our atmosphere. As methane gas is one of the greenhouse gases and is almost 20 more times more potent than carbon dioxide, it can attribute to climate changes and increase pollution.

Here at EverGro Organic Recycling, we proudly promote a cleaner environment by taking in the clean carbon from the feedstocks provided and combines it with the nitrogen in biosolids from local municipal wastewater facilities, domestic sewage sludge (class B biosolids), and water plant residuals. This ultimately converts the waste back into environmentally safe and beneficial products which can, in turn, be used in agriculture, landscaping, highway fertilization, big housing communities, and many other areas.
